Industrial PTFE Coating Service for FDA Regulated and Heavy Duty Applications
PTFE coating is sold as a commodity by most applicators. AEGIS Advanced sells it as engineering. We coat metal substrates that fail in service for three reasons: thermal cycling on heat seal jaws, abrasion on food and pharma contact surfaces, or chemical attack on large equipment that cannot be shipped to a coating shop. Our fluoropolymer systems are FDA 21 CFR 175.300 compliant where required, applied with controlled surface prep and induction cure, and serviced by field crews when the asset has to stay on site.

PTFE coating by application
We organize PTFE coating work by industry because each application has a different failure mode, a different FDA posture, and a different recoat cadence.
Heat seal bars

Flex packaging lines wear heat seal jaws faster than any other PTFE surface. AEGIS coats with thermal cycle resistant fluoropolymer systems that run 4 to 7 months on heavy duty lines. FDA grade workshop coating with emergency expedite available for production critical lines.
Pharma and FDA

Pharma reactor mixers, blade tips, transfer rolls, and discharge chutes need PTFE that meets FDA contact rules and survives the cleaning chemistry. AEGIS pharma jobs come with material certs, surface profile reports, and the FDA letter for your validation file.
Field deployable

Large rolls and vessels that cannot be shipped to a coating shop get AEGIS field crews with portable in situ heat activation rigs. Coat in place. No tear down, no shipping, no oven cycle.
When AEGIS PTFE coating is the right choice
AEGIS is the right choice when one of the following is true:
- The part is FDA regulated. Food contact equipment, pharma processing components, or any surface that touches consumable product requires documented coating chemistry. We supply the FDA letter on every job.
- The part is too big to ship. AEGIS dispatches field crews with in situ heat activation rigs to coat large rolls and structural assets on site.
- The duty cycle is severe. Heat seal jaws, paper machine rolls, mining wear plates, and tire processing rolls fail commodity PTFE in months. Our multilayer systems with engineered cross link density run two to three times longer.
- Recoat cadence matters. Approved vendor list customers get recoat scheduling, dimensional inspection on every cycle, and predictable budget across multiple years.
If the part is small, simple, and not regulated, a commodity applicator will be cheaper. We do not chase that work.
AEGIS PTFE coating technology stack
Three technology blocks separate AEGIS PTFE work from commodity PTFE work:
- Induction heat activation curing. Patent pending method (USPTO Application 19/441,842) that bonds fluoropolymer layers using controlled induction coil heating instead of conventional oven cure. The result is a tighter cross link, better substrate adhesion, and a process that runs in 30 percent of the time of a conventional cure.
- In situ heat activation rig. Portable induction cure equipment that lets AEGIS field crews coat assets in place. No tear down, no shipping, no oven time. Read more about in situ heat activation.
- FP Series fluoropolymer chemistries. Multiple PTFE, PFA, and FEP systems tuned per application. The same shop does not coat a heat seal bar and a wellhead with the same primer.
Aftermarket recoat, not OEM coating
AEGIS exists to service industrial assets that are already in production. We do not coat new parts off the assembly line for first install. Our customers are operators with PTFE coated assets that have failed early, that need recoat on a schedule, or that have an installed asset they want to bring up to AEGIS quality the next time it comes off line.
